Last month, the world of anti-GamerGate exploded in paroxysms of rage at the existence of Roughed Up by #GamerGape, a purported rape fantasy focusing on “game” “developer” and Five Guys saleschick Zoe Quinn. The 11-page Kindle story billed itself as a tale about Zada Quimby, a “controversial video game designer” who gets gangbanged by “five upset players.” Upon discovering Roughed Up by #GamerGape, Quinn snapped her fingers and her army of white knights got the book pulled from Amazon in record time.
Not long after #GamerGape was removed from Amazon, I got an email from the author, who offered me a copy of the book to review. Not only is the book not a rape fantasy, the author told me that less than ten copies of the book were ever sold or borrowed, meaning that the chance that any of the journalists who whined about the book actually read it is close to zero.
As a public service to my fellow gamers, I’ve read Roughed Up by #GamerGape and present my analysis. Anyone who reads this book and is offended by it has serious issues, because #GamerGape is about as shocking and daring as The Devil in Miss Jones. It’s a middling erotic story that is more valuable as parody than as a way of getting off.
Yeah Baby, Suck On My Joystick
My edition of Roughed Up by #GamerGape includes a section explaining the origins of the book more clearly. #GamerGape is part of the erotica sub-genre of “dubious consent,” stories which involve women in situations that may seem like rape, but with the crucial twist that she’s in complete control of the situation. According to the author, dubious consent (or “dubcon”) is one of the most popular variety of erotic stories.
The book’s plot is so thin and flimsy you can practically hear the “bow chicka wow wow” soundtrack as you read. The protagonist, Zada Quimby, is invited to a meet and greet with five gamers so she can get feedback on her latest game, Don’t Kill Yourself. Unbeknownst to her, these gamers are planning to gang-rape her in retaliation for her flippant treatment of suicide and bullying. The dialogue between these knuckleheads is so corny it could come straight out of I Spit on Your Grave:
Saul was a bit chunky and was still a virgin. The closest he had gotten to a woman was on those phone chat lines and even then, he didn’t do well. He pushed the glasses further back on his nose and looked at the man nervously. He did not like the idea of hurting someone, no matter how much he hated her.
As you can tell from this excerpt, the author of #GamerGape won’t be winning any awards for his prose. While not as bad as Fifty Shades of Grey, the book’s writing is rather bland and lacking in oomph. Ain’t nobody gonna be getting a boner from this schlock. Shit, I once tried my hand at writing erotica and while the results were pretty crappy, they were certainly better than this.
As I mentioned, the big twist in #GamerGape’s plot is that Zada turns the tables on her attackers. While she initially pretends to be frightened of her nerd assailants (who all have delightfully parodic names like “Saul Piddle,” “Dave Futile” and “Alan Chin”), she eventually reveals that getting gangbanged was part of her plot all along:
Her pleas were ignored. Brian slammed his cock inside of her ass, plunging deep down into her bowels. She cried out in pain, her ass burning with the rough treatment. Both cocks started to fuck her in unison, filling her to the brim and then leaving her desperately empty.
All in all, #GamerGape is about as offensive as a late-night Cinemax movie, only with more cock shots. I’ve read game manuals that were more arousing, and better edited to boot.
SJWs And The Narcissistic Mind
If Roughed Up by #GamerGape is not the rape fantasy story the media claims it is—indeed, is nothing but a dumb parody—why did Zoe Quinn and her toadies get so upset about it?
The answer is narcissism. SJWs are defined by their incredible, debilitating narcissism, an attitude that infects everything from their ideology itself to the ways they interact with others. Narcissists, above all else, hate it when others penetrate their false reality, and one of the easiest ways to do this is by making fun of them. While most normal people can take a joke, narcissists absolutely go insane when people laugh at them.
The violent reaction to Roughed Up by #GamerGape was driven both by misinformation about the book’s nature and by the incredible fear SJWs have of being made fun of. We’ve seen the same reaction to camgirl Princess Kora’s “Boob Frequency” parody of Anita Sarkeesian, which SJWs have laughably tried to label as “revenge porn.” Apparently, even gently poking fun at SJWs is now unacceptable.
And it’s precisely because social justice warriors are so upset by parodies and satires that I endorse Roughed Up by #GamerGape and projects like it, even if I quibble with their quality. Humor is the most effective weapon against tyrants; grandiose, narcissistic personalities despise anyone who doesn’t take them seriously. Given how self-evidently dumb SJW ideology is, how can we not mock it?
