Hello, my name is David. I’ve been gaming since my Dad bought me the original Mario on NES. Something about games immediately hooked me; I’ve played them as a serious hobby for my entire life. I’ve taken breaks here and there to pursue other goals, but even after accomplishing these goals I still find myself going back to gaming. Few activities bring me as much happiness as beating skilled opponents in a complex game, whether it is over chess, a FPS, a board game like Twilight Struggle, or a MOBA.
It’s great to be here at Reaxxion and I hope to be able to contribute much of value while indulging my hobby. I grew up reading old school magazine publications before the internet, such as Next Generation, and after discovering through #GamerGate how politicized gaming journalism has become, I leapt at the chance to write for a website that will be expressedly non-political and pro-gaming. I want to bring some of that old-school gaming journalism magic back. Unfortunately, due to the takeover of the gaming media by SJWs, it seems that even such a simple task is nonetheless political. Oh well; life is too short to care about such trivial matters.
I hope those who start reading RXN now will feel good to be part of a website that is part of the #GamerGate consumer revolt, and that you will get a lot of enjoyment reading the articles and news stories here. Hopefully, we will soon be on the cutting edge of gaming news and reviews, and making a real difference, but until then there is plenty to talk about. I’d like to talk about what makes for a great game, and why it is peculiarly men who enjoy games by examining the psychology of men and the prevalence of male gaming throughout history.
Additionally, there are so many other talented gamers here with much to offer. So, stick around dear reader, and we shall not disappoint you.
