True Equality Still Exists In Gaming

In modern times, the striving for “equality” is a neverending endeavor. As righteous as this enduring struggle may seem, the modern social justice version of equality could be described as more of a desperate practice to validate the SJW worldview than the equal treatment of all people. As it turns out, just giving people equal opportunity doesn’t produce the desired results. Mass manipulation is then required to make it seem as though all people are completely equal in every way and the only reason certain groups underachieve is “white male privilege”.

Instead of merely expecting all people to have equal opportunity, equal outcome is paramount. This warped social justice version of equality has seamlessly slipped into the consciousness of many and is strictly enforced under threat of being ousted by the quota-exceeding thought police.

There is a single standard for which all organizations are now judged by: how many white men there are, especially in positions of prominence. The higher the number, the harsher the judgment.

Whether blaming the lesser amount of female CEOs on words that now need to be banned or inventing some massive conspiracy where male gamers terrorize women to keep them out of gaming, there is always some excuse to explain away disparities.

By treating certain people more equal than others

Women cant just be given the opportunity to serve in the military, assuming they can fulfil the requirements, but standards (that women are unable to meet) must be lowered so that unqualified females can participate. Women are given special treatment and held to significantly lower standards in the name of “equality”.

In essence, all people are equal but some are more equal than others, so chosen groups are treated with deference while white men are despised. The playing field is tilted so certain groups can fair better at the expense of others. The coveted victim status, enjoyed by women and minorities, mandates special treatment while the “privilege” label that white men are assigned denotes unfair treatment. Some people enjoy benefits while others have to hurdle arbitrary obstacles. People are treated unequally in the name of “equality”.

No one is supposed to consider the thought that perhaps all people are not absolutely equal. The expectation that people of all races and genders will perform at the same level in all endeavors is held by all true believers—it’s a widely accepted belief that is absolutely required for acceptance into the self-appointed higher class of people. Dissenters can expect to stay firmly in the crosshairs of the thought police.

Gamers Should Know Better

Gamers share a very different notion of equality when playing. No one worries about how many black players win rounds or how many women are atop the leaderboards. Generally, the more talented players succeed where others do not. Player-vs-Player gaming is a form of competition where the winners succeed with skill and strategy and the ultimate determinant of success or failure is ability.

If women or minorities don’t perform well it is not automatically assumed that they didn’t have an equal chance. Unlike in modern society, if white men are doing better than others they are not assigned privilege and their achievements not denigrated as only a result of an unfair advantage. Gamers strive for a level playing field where all have an equal opportunity and success or failure isn’t assumed to be due to invisible privileges based on race or gender.

Good game designers create balanced games that give everyone a fair shot. Any aspect of a game considered unfair or beneficial to one side will be exposed by the community. An overpowered weapon will inspire demands for a much needed “nerfing” and bad level design which benefits one team over the other will be denounced.

Crafty gamers will always find some exploit they can take advantage of. Some solely use an overpowered gun, “camp” in a safe spot the entire round, glitch into a (developer unintended) spot where they are impervious to damage, or use any number of tactics or exploits to gain an advantage. Anyone with an unfair advantage, such as hackers or cheaters, are often not tolerated.

Gamers complain about numerous things, but never an invisible “privilege” that dooms them to mediocrity while allowing others to ascend to greatness by simply possessing it. The gaming community wouldn’t rally behind movements that believe equality should be achieved by tilting the playing field so the less talented can compete with superior players, thereby validating the belief that since all gamers are equal, they should perform at the same level.

In the gaming community, actual unfairness is pointed out and opposed instead of invented in order to fulfil social justice mandates. Gamers deal with real unfairness with the intent to make things fair, not imaginary issues to make things unequal for social justice purposes.

Even though there is always something within a game that some consider unbalanced, competitive gaming is typically a domain where the better players excel and those who do not have their own skills and play style to blame. Gamers play by the same rules and rise and fall on their own ability.

Social Justice Equality Applied To Online Gaming

Since SJWs believe in blanket equality without exception and therefore expect all to achieve at the same level, the only cause they consider for any achievement gap between white men and others is “white male privilege.”

If the forced equality where equal outcome is paramount were applied to online gaming, it could entail top performers receiving penalties. A desired outcome would be most FPS players having .500 kill-death ratios. Leaderboards would be replaced with “participation lists” which listed all players in no discernible order and included no scores. Women and minority gamers would receive a score boost to offset “white male gamer privilege” while white men suffer a penalty.

Under this standard, if those women and minority gamers underperformed in any way compared to white males, their relative skill would not be a consideration. A gaming version of affirmative action would need to be put into effect so victim groups receive benefits at the expense of white male gamers. Clans would be forced to accept the constantly aggrieved regardless of any former qualifications that were required for admittance. Incompetent people would be put into positions of prominence in the gaming community to meet social justice diversity quotas.

It’s refreshing to participate in gaming where true equality still exists and is not just a code word for an illusion that is maintained by treating designated groups better than despised groups to make it seem as though all possess the same ability.

While society continually wrestles with everlasting inequality and strives for that illusive equality by making things less equal while groups that receive special treatment and benefits at the expense of others demand rights they already have and complain about injustices that exist only in their mind, I’ll enjoy gaming where players are equal and rise and fall on their own merit—for now at least.
