All it took was one straw man argument. Target Australia, a retailer I thankfully hardly frequent, pulled the controversial GTA V off its shelves in early December.
Nicole, an alleged sexual assault survivor, claimed “this sickening game encourages players to commit sexual violence and kill women.” She also bandied about the idea that killing women is misogynistic because the player obtains “‘health’ points” from it. Though it is true that minor items can be obtained from dead pedestrians, these trinkets come from both genders and many races.
Sensing an opening for her twisted rage, Nicole began a petition on the now grossly-overused Change.org website. Target then bowed to the demands of Nicole and her friends and pulled the title off its shelves. It is remarkable but still unsurprising that a major corporation worth billions would surrender to a fictional argument. Keeping leftist women onside, no matter how ridiculous the situation, is an imperative for social media-minded conglomerates.

Violence against women or violence against everyone? Depends on which pill you’ve taken.
Unfortunately, Nicole deliberately misrepresented the game to the point of outright lying. In no way does GTA V encourage players to kill women. The average player of this franchise has more opportunities to kill men than women. In fact, the most graphic and infamous part of the game involves the torturing of a man involving electric shocks and tooth extraction.
The whole story arc of GTA V is driven by taking something from other characters or non-significant bystanders, often after killing them. To argue that it is about killing women is like arguing Great Whites only kill female seals.
The most preposterous (and insidious) claim by Nicole and those supporting her is that GTA V features sexual violence. This represents another example of SJW’s erroneously raising the spectre of rape to get their way. It also furnishes another opportunity for activists to assert the false prevalence of rape culture. Given the repressive affirmative consent regulations now being foisted on US colleges, we can observe where rape culture hysteria invariably leads.
If anything, the Grand Theft Auto franchise is an equal opportunity blood fest. In what other arena can a gaming connoisseur murder or maim such a large cross-section of society? Whites, blacks and Hispanics join men, women, young adults and the middle-aged as constant victims by a thousand different means. The only categories of human beings not usually open to gruesome ends in this game are children and the disabled or elderly.
We should not be startled that someone started this petition, or that Target Australia pulled the title from its shelves. Since the dawn of Lara Croft, feminists have frothed at the idea of dismantling free choice in video games and propagating a female-centric/female-only concept of victimhood. Moreover, it ties into a much wider feminist raison d’être of claiming equality while pushing women ahead.
In the SJW narrative, killing a man is just violence, and nothing else. But when a player kills a woman, the SJW do-gooders declare it a pathological misogyny. In addition to the logical fallacy of such arguments, they are employed to achieve wider feminist aims.

Male victims of violence, virtual or otherwise, do not matter in contemporary feminist discourse. Only female victims deserve social outrage in this narrative.
The central theme of the Change.org campaign and others like it is to portray any activity or criticism against women as misogynistic. Men can be equal or greater victims, virtually or in real life, and the SJW sycophants will still portray an issue as entrenching bias and violence towards women.
Get used to this selectivity, but also be willing to challenge it. Thousands of comments have so far landed on Target Australia’s Facebook page, the overwhelming majority being critical of the company’s decision. This is good news for a broader public yet to take a desperately needed red pill.
The bigger problem, however, is with the countless other straw man arguments used by radical feminists and SJW activists. White Ribbon Day, the wage gap myth and the funding of feminist organisations are all arenas where extreme selectivity and bias are employed to facilitate desired outcomes.
We will see more and more inflammatory campaigns by the Nicoles of this world, alleging sexual violence where sexual violence does not exist. GTA V is just the tip of the iceberg. But when we shine light onto SJW lies, the iceberg starts to melt.
