As Reaxxion readers are already aware, FIFA will now feature female soccer teams for the first time in series history. Lauded as a wonderful step by feminist culture critics and professional whiners, this decision didn’t make much difference to many fans of the series. But instead of endearing themselves to the social justice mob for their obvious capitulation and peace offering to the alter of social justice gaming trends, the creators of FIFA now find themselves in the awkward position of being attacked by the same people they’re trying to please.

Are You Serious?

After 22 years FIFA’s video game franchise finally adds playable women. The fine print says mixed-gender teams or matches aren’t permitted.

This is the same type of situation that I wrote about recently. Basically, it’s a version of “give them an inch and they take a mile” posturing. She praises them for forcing female teams into the game and in the same breath criticizes them for not allowing male-vs.-female matches. I said it before and I’ll say it again: you just cant win, so why even try?

Why aren’t mixed-gender teams or matches allowed in FIFA 16? It’s a video game after all, and as such, could easily do gender integration.

As if sticking to a script, here we have the same redundant argument again. They seem to suggest that a mere game, being a version of pure fantasy, should accommodate their every desire despite how out-of-place or outlandish it may be.

The “it’s just a game so it should include [insert ridiculous demand]” reasoning is a favorite of the social justice crowd who have used it in an attempt to justify putting black characters into European settings where they absolutely do not belong, demanding that all female characters be so unbelievable that they are almost unrecognizable as actual human females, and now allowing male and female soccer teams to face off despite this never occurring in the real world. Social justice takes precedent over a game staying anywhere near the realm of rationality, even when attempting to depict an actual sport as accurately as possible.

I am usually a strong proponent of giving gamers as many options as feasibly possible. The “when in doubt, make it optional” mantra works out for the better more often than not. But when it comes to a sports simulation, which is what FIFA is, putting men and women on the same virtual soccer field as equal participants, the line has been crossed into outrageously absurd territory.

You can be sure that if they were to actually allow this, the same people who wanted it to happen would find something to complain about regarding the execution. It would be something like: “So the female players have less overall skill than the male players?! Sexist!” or perhaps even “Male players are allowed to physically harm female players! And just a red flag?! Violence against women!”

Adding the option for gender-integrated teams to FIFA games could help us imagine that possibility in future real-world sporting events.

Yes, lets take a moment and seriously imagine the reality of gender-integrated professional sports.

There are not many examples of women competing against men in professional sporting events in the United States to compare, but one event comes to mind when trying to realistically envision women competing against elite sportsmen. The first female “kicker” (the safest and least physically demanding position in football) participated in an NFL combine a few years back. This was supposed to be a mighty triumph of gender equality for the world to witness and a loud and clear confirmation that women can do anything a man can, including playing professional football.

But, as these things tend to do, it didn’t turn out quite so joyous:

So, examples of females successfully competing with men at the highest level of sports are sorely lacking at best and an absolutely embarrassing disaster at worst. But there are examples outside the sporting world that are related enough to draw a similar comparison. For instance, the United States military recently removed the ban on women in combat units, including elite special forces (!), and the race was on, each branch vying for the coveted top spot. All they had to do was get the most women into their elite units.

Although, without significantly lowering standards (yet), this feat has proven way more difficult than gender deniers led to believe. The first Ranger school to allow women has been an unmitigated disaster for those who try to will gender differences out of existence through sheer desire. Of the 19 women who were chosen to participate, exactly zero made it through the first phase. The Marine Corps has not fared any better, as not a single one of the 29 women who attempted the Infantry Officer Course have managed to complete it.

But make no mistake, this problem will most likely be remedied sooner or later. Certainly not by finally giving in to the reality of biological gender differences and admitting, albeit reluctantly, that women are simply not suited for certain things and in fact can not “do anything a man can do, sometimes better.” Instead, standards will inevitably be softened to accommodate unqualified females.

The wisdom of our age dictates that having the most qualified fighting force is just not as important as making sure women are represented equally, and forcing everyone to pretend there is nothing wrong with that is a good thing, seeing as how men and women are equally capable anyway.

Let The Girls Play Ball With The Boys

How, in this age of enlightenment when everyone must pretend that men and women are perfectly equal, can professional sports remain segregated by gender? Along with prisons, pro sports remain an ugly reminder of a dark time when people actually thought that men and women were different. Women are allowed to join combat units and are even attempting (and failing miserably) to qualify for elite special forces and yet are not competing with men on the sporting field of battle.

This sexist tradition of barring women from top level sporting competition must end. The NFL, while a good choice, would not be the best sport for women to initially shatter that glass ceiling. Instead, it should be a sport that could lead to, quite literally, “shattering the glass jaw” of women: mixed martial arts.

At one time, Dana White stated that women would never compete in the UFC. Now they have their own division. In 2013, a fight between a man and a woman was officially scheduled as the first of its kind. Unsurprisingly, it turned out to be a publicity stunt to raise awareness for—what else—violence against women. Fallon Fox, a man who was willingly castrated in an attempt to “transition” into a female, actually fought as a woman against other women.

A fight between Ronda Rousey and virtually any man in any weight class would probably be a big PPV event and an incredibly entertaining spectacle, no doubt. Taking the best female fighter in the UFC and putting her in the octagon against some average male fighter would be a great way to break the gender barrier.

RR

Impressive… for a girl.

Merge the WNBA with the NBA and the PGA tour with the LPGA. Create one World Cup. No more Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Singles at Wimbledon. Softball becomes baseball, the list goes on. A crushing blow for gender equality delusion in spectacular fashion.

Integrated sports would be a highly public and extremely visceral display of the utter stupidity of gender difference denial. If women can be Navy SEALs and conduct high-risk operations around the world, why cant they play linebacker for the Steelers? Millions of people watching women attempt to compete with men on TV would force common sense upon and inject some much needed sanity into the modern public consciousness… and be damn entertaining while doing so.
